Women Podcast Diaries you mustn’t miss

It has been a while since podcasting went mainstream, and the expanse of opportunities it offers is incredible! There are an estimated 40 mn podcast users in India alone. From audio-books, storytelling, music creators to chat shows, movie reviews and everything pop culture- there is a podcast for everyone. We love our podcasts! We feel the best thing about them is that they are passive in nature, which doesn’t involve your active involvement, unlike a video, for example. Since we know you don a multitude of hats, podcasts can be the ideal amalgamation of multitasking and fulfilment. Have you joined the wagon yet?

But from the plethora of shows available in abundance across platforms, how do you choose or even begin with? Well, we strongly recommend you listen to stories of women empowerment, experiences, challenges or even humour, as told by the power women themselves. Don’t go looking; we have curated a list for you right here-

#1. The Vision Nari Podcast

Swati Rawat, the host of this show, founded The Vision Nari with an aim to tell the remarkable stories of various women leaders, visionaries and entrepreneurs across many fields. Being an avid podcast listener herself, she was looking for a show that tells inspiring stories of women and found none! That is how the idea was seeded.

She feels that the late 20s for any woman, is a time when you are making a lot of personal and professional decisions. And this is the time when listening to these great stories can inspire you immensely. So, she gets them to her platform and interviews them and makes sure that these inspirational stories reach the audience she once was.

#2. Call Your Girlfriend

Missing you BFFs? Want to reinstate a relationship with your bestie that got drowned in daily hustles? This show can be the best sort of a reminder! Very reminiscent of the quintessential female chatter, the show is heart warming as well as extremely informative. The co-hosts are BFFS and call each other week to discuss newsworthy topics in politics and pop culture. Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman are honest, fiery, humorous, opinionated and have an outstanding rapport.

They also interview women and not just the ones who are famous. They aim at highlighting the stories of all kinds of women. The show will definitely make you miss those never-ending conversations with your BFFs.

#3. Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations

Most of us are guilty of crying our eyes out while watching the Oprah Winfrey show at one point or another. The woman has the knack of touching your soul, whether she is talking to you as an interviewer or whether you are just an audience to her show. She does the exact same thing with her podcast as well.

Chatting up the strongest of women is Oprah’s favourite thing to do and what great food for our souls, that is! Listen to this podcast to go over the lives of brave, unintimated and strong-willed women all while Oprah showering you with her own wisdom of having lived the life she has.

The recent pandemic has provided us all a lot of time to introspect and change things within us. Let us make the changes for good, expand our horizons and have new experiences. Podcasts are all of those things, packaged in soothing voices and amazing tales!
